Empress Angelina Josephina Manicotti and Emperor Paul Maka Poole have completed their year reign and have passed on the crown. I will always remember them for bringing the gay community back to North Beach and officially having Jose Sarria's portrait installed with the other legends who have performed at the historic Purple Onion. Angelina and Paul did a great job representing San Francisco with the support they were able to find during these tough times. With that being said, I would like to welcome the newly crowned Empress Renita Valdez and Emperor Stephen Dorsey. Good luck, and remember, kids: you're representing all of San Francisco. Make us proud. Have fun with your reign and don't be discouraged if you find it is never easy getting a bunch of queens to agree on anything.

In other royal news, this Sat., March 6 at 7 p.m., the Ducal Court invites you to go Down the Rabbit Hole Ball at Cafe Flore to celebrate the 37th anniversary of the Grand Ducal Council of San Francisco. My dear friend Jimmy McConnell from the Alexander Hamilton Post will be running for this year's King of Hearts. Be sure to support our vets by buying some raffle tickets from Jimmy. He's living proof that gays can proudly serve the country in the military, and he has participated in many fundraisers, equal rights marches, and was last seen representing our color guard at Coronation.

Don't miss Ovum, the latest venture of multi-talented Miss Duplicity. The big party this Fri., March 5 at the Deco Lounge starts at 9 p.m. You know Duplicity can really work the stage, and that's not only because she built it, she's one of the craziest performers around. If you don't catch her party, drop in any Tuesday for the tasty brunches she hosts and caters benefiting the Transgender Law Center. Now that's what I call a good queen.

DJ Bus Station John's wild Manquake party has found a new home at the Hot Spot bar (1414 Market St.). His flair for sleaze and vinyl take me back to the old Blue and Gold days when things were not as vanilla as some city supervisors would like them to be. Put on your sexy underwear and check out his party the first Saturday of every month. The cover is $5. Two good things you'll find at this party are $3 drink specials all night and sexy trade. And if that doesn't stiffen your loins and make your liver quiver, drop by Aunt Charlie's on Thursday nights for his Tubesteak Connection. This weekly disco party will make you dance your Gloria Gaynor off. If you're having fun, you're sure to get a lap dance from Eddie Ola Bellpepper aka the Marquis de Turk.

I wish all the best to the earthquake survivors in Chile and am glad my friends at Hula's dodged the tsunami. Keep safe kids, have a drink for me and send your dish and dirt to sweetlipssf@gmail.com.
